Biomass Combustion or Gasification?

Reduce emissions with BETH® filters provided by WEIS ENVIRONMENTAL®

Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) have proven their immense value to the timber industry as dedusting systems for both wood-fuelled boiler plants and drying plants. Equally excellent is their performance with other types of biomass combustion (dry ESPs) or biomass gasification (wet ESPs).

BETH® electrostatic precipitators effortlessly lower dust contents well below the legal emission limits of 20 mg/m³ in standard conditions. Compared to conventional filter systems, they offer considerable advantages because of their low energy demands, high operational reliability, low maintenance requirements, and – last but not least – low investment costs.

The electrostatic precipitator can operate either with or without an upstream cyclone (centrifugal) separator. It can reduce raw dust contents of up to 10g/ m³ to clean gas contents of 20mg/ m³ in standard conditions. This corresponds to a separation rate of more than 99%.

Special features of the standard ESP

Our standardized model sizes can purify gas volumes ranging from about 500 Bm³/h (Mini ESP) to 500,000 Bm³/h (Industrial ESP). Each field can be adjusted both electronically and/or separately by mechanic means, resulting in an optimal purifying effect at the lowest possible energy consumption. Robust construction, glitch-free functionality and convenient maintenance options ensure the long operational life of BETH electrostatic precipitators.

More than 120 Years of Success!

Years of continuous operation in the timber industry and other sectors have proven the excellent quality of BETH technology time and again. Moreover, the measuring results speak for themselves: in normal conditions they will always stay below 20 mg/m³, but it’s not unusual to even achieve continuous levels of far below 10 mg/m³.

The usual components of industrial ESPs like emission and precipitation electrodes are also used in the standardized ESPs in the timber industry and in biomass combustion.

Turnkey service for plant systems

For the completion or assembly of turnkey plants we can supply all connecting conduits, ventilators, sound insulation equipment, dust discharge and dust collection components, thermal insulation and electrical equipment. By your request, BETH will also install and start up your plant for you.
