Playing it safe
For most companies, safety is one of the main requirements for any dust removal unit, along with trouble-free operation and cost- effectiveness.
This is precisely why many of our products have been designed with explosion protection.
Many applications require the safe extraction of flammable and explosive dusts, such as flour, powdered milk, sugar, wood swarf, coal dust etc. For these applications, the filter unit can be outfitted with explosion protection that conforms to the requisite safety regulations for the prevention of explosions and, where necessary, is constructed to withstand explosions in accordance with the European standard:
DIN EN 1127-1
Potentially explosive atmospheres - explosion protection Part 1: Basic principles and systems engineering.
This European standard guideline is in large parts consistent with the U.S. standard »NFPA 68«, but is only applied for dust mixtures, not gases.
The specification and outfitting of the requisite safety features depend on operational requirements and local conditions of the filter environment.
Peter Stender from our sister company AEROB-BETH is a renowned specialist in the field of explosion protection. He has passed on his vast and steadily growing expertise on dust explosions and protective measures in numerous presentations and lectures, based on the applicable rules and regulations:
- Explosion protection in dust removal plants
- ATEX 137/ Operational Safety Regulations Explosion Protection Document – Zone Classification
- Machine types and categories according to zone classification for dusts
- ATEX 95 required examination of machines, components and autonomous protection systems
- ATEX 95 applicability of AEROB-BETH products
- Explosion protection in the various areas of application, e.g. the automotive industry or the timber industry
With us, you’re always on the safe side – no matter what the problem.
